24 Hours Telethon: Victory of LGL. 260 000€ for genetic diseases

16/12/2006 – New Record for these 24 H of the Telethon organized on the circuit of Adria, which made it possible to bring back 260.000€ for scientific research against the genetic diseases. Eighty thousand euros have been given by Adria International Raceway, 70.000€ by one of the sponsor: Mionetto, 60.000€ by BT British Telecom, and 50.000€ by Valleverde.

In addition to this huge sum of money collected for these 24 H of Telethon, we can also notice the presence of the public during all the race, as well as great names of the automobile like Andrea Piro, Giancarlo Fisichella, all divided on the 27 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII. The final victory returned to the TEAM LGL which did 702 laps on the circuit for this 3rd edition of Telethon. A success that the TEAM wanted to dedicate to Clay Ragazzoni, died of a road accident in the course of the day. The captain of the victorious team, Andrea Piccini official driver of the Aston Martin Phoenix in FIA GT, saw his team being constantly in the first positions, by building an advantage throughout these 24 H.

On an other hand the Formula 1 Renault driver, Giancarlo Fisichella crossed the arrival in 6th position with his Team Durango 1. On the podium, team LGL was accompanied by the TEAM Adria International Raceway, and “Se Hai 3 Si Vede”, all these cars arrived almost without fuel. Just note that the end of the race and the podium retransmitted on line on Rai Uno. The team of the Monegasque driver Cédric Sbirrazzuoi will finish in a very good 5th general place and will finish as the best Durango team.

Winter Trophy Formule Renault 2.0 Races 3 & 4| 08/12/2006

Race 1: Never 2 without 3 for Jaime Alguersuari, who won a new race and so, reduced the chances of final victory of his adversaries for Winter Trophy of the Formula Renault 2.0 Italia at Vallelunga. After an excellent start, the Catalan driver, continue to lead the race, in front of Roberto Mehri, current leader of the classification reserved for rookies. The two Spanish precedes Mirko Bortolotti and Frankie Provenzano. This last succeeded in recovering its place on the grid after a mistake at the “Tornanatino” in the warm up lap. On the other hand it carries out a splendid race following a fight with the driver of RP Motorsport Mirko Bortolotti. Finally it is Provenzano which will cross the finish line at the 3rd place following a beautiful overtake at the “Semaforo”, which enables him to preserve a place of honour concerning the general classification, at only 26 point of Alguersuari. Behind the leading group, the battle between Bortolotti and Provenzano continues and we also had a lot of beautiful duels in the middle of the group. In the Top Ten we also find Alcaraz, Faccin, Merchan, De Marco, Cinti and Zampieri. The other Roman of the BVM had problems of under-steering during the qualifications, as well as instability at the curve “Cimini”. This last could have appeared largely better if he didn’t make a mistake at the first curve of the first lap. Behind this small group of the 10 first, Mihaescu, Taleb, Ivanov and Visconti precede Bassi, Sbirrazzuoli, author of a beautiful race following a mistake at the “Tornantino” at the half of the race. Indeed the Monegasque driver carried out not badly going beyond to remake his delay, for finally preceding Zonzini, Nava, and Marzullo.

Race 2: Poker and Title for Alguersuari!!!

19/11/2006 - Four out of four for Jaime Alguersuari. Following his victory in the fourth and last race of Winter Trophy Formula Renault 2.0 on the track of Vallelunga. A title won really easily, which shows at which point the experience is important in this category. The start of the race of Sunday morning was delayed because of the fog and the bad conditions of the track. After 1 hour of waiting, the race direction decided to launch the race, but with the presence of the safety car for the five first laps. As soon as the safety car enters to the boxes the group was already separate, because some drivers started the race with slicks tyres, so they weren’t able to follow the rhythm. However Jaime Alguersuari did a good start and was leading the race in front of Mehri who will be then passed by Bortolotti, which will conclude the race in second position. Out of the podium the Roman Frankie Provenzano, who got rid of Faccin before the finish flag. Beautiful race also for Daniel Zampieri, who finished at the 6th place in front of Cinti, Merchan, Alcaraz, and De Marco who concludes this Top ten. For this race all the drivers chose the rains tyres except Nava, Mihanescu and Bassi. Cédric Sbirrazzuoli finishes the race in the 12th place while having left 17th, beautiful gone up the Monegasque driver!!!

Winter Trophy Vallelunga F.Renault: Races 1 & 2.| 13/11/2006


Race 1: Victory for Alguersuari.

11/11/2006 - Jaime Alguersuari dominates the first of the four races of Winter Trophy Formula Renault 2000 in Vallelunga. The Catalan sponsored by Red Bull takes advantage of his pole position at the start, for then signed several fast laps, which will enable him to widen the gap to gain this beautiful victory. Behind him, Frankie Provenzano showed his experiment by preceding Roberto Mehri, being the revelation of the weekend thanks to a podium for his first appearance in the category. Mehri tightened teeth until the end of a splendid battle with Daniel Zampieri. Very good beginning also in the category for Michele Faccin, 5th, like for the 2 Ecuadorians Merchan and Taleb which battled for the 6th place throughout the race. In the Top Ten, we can also find 2 young talented drivers: Mirko Bortolotti and Nicola De Marco, which precede Cinti unlucky at the start after a problem concerning the clutch. Behind them we assist to a beautiful battle between Alcaraz, Sbirrazzuoli, Leo, Dhaese, Zonzini, Bassi and Nava which will finish the race in this position.

Race 2: Alguersuari bis with the rain.

13/11/2006 - Jaime Alguersuari allocates also the 2nd race of the weekend of Winter Trophy Formula Renault in Vallelunga, which enables him to confirm his first place in the absolute classification of the championship on Provenzano and Mehri. The 2nd victory of the Catalan of Red Bull was nevertheless sullied with an arrival under safety car because of a violent rain at the half of the race, which will force the race direction to take this decision. Arrival which saw Frankie Provenzano once again taking the 2nd place in front of Riccardo Cinti, who obtains his first podium and offers to his TEAM (It Loox) its 2nd podium of the weekend. Behind him, Mirko Bortolotti, author of the best lap of the race precede Alcaraz, Sbirrazzuoli and Mehri. This last has had however a problem at the start of the race after a contact with Zampieri, who is a talented driver which is always in the most beautiful battles of the race, but which had this time to give up following an exit in the gravel to the “Cimini”. This track wet will force some drivers to leave the track: Bianca Steiner, Taleb and Zonzini. In the Top Ten, we also have the young driver Nicola De Marco, the Ecuadorian Merchan and Bulgarian Ivanov. Behind them Leo, Faccin, Mihaescu, Belometti and Dhaese, finished their race in front of Roda, Bassi, Marzullo and Nava. However Marco Visconti didn’t take part to the second race after an engine failure.

Misano Races| 06/11/2006

F.Azzurra Misano Races, Belluardo and Sbirrazzuoli winners, Termine champion !!!

23/10/2006 - Two spectacular races to close this season of Formula Azzurra, Trofeo Michele Alboreto which have seen Giuseppe Termine (CO2 Motorsport) champion 2006, succeeding to Davide Rigon in the gold book of the category. On the other hand the 16 years old, Mirko Bortolotti (TEAM Italia CSAI) will finish his season with a 4th and a 5th places to conclude this year 2nd absolute position. Regarding the victories of the 2 races they are allocated to Ignazio Belluardo (Pro Motorsport) and to the Monegasque, Cédric Sbirrazzuoli (Europa Corse). The Sicilian of the Team Pro Motorsport, will finish first to the championship without pretending to the title as he didn’t participate to all races, nevertheless he won race 1 after having passed Francesco Riccio (CO2 Motorsport) who will let pass his team made, Giuseppe Termine in the last curve to help him to win the championship. The pole man, Sbirrazzuoli protagonist in race 1, where he will leave the group at the half of the race for a mistake finishing in the grass, however he will win race 2 after a splendid duel with Belluardo. Fifth of race 1 and 3rd in race 2, De Marco will finish at the 3rd place of the absolute classification in front of Sbirrazzuoli and Faccin (PKF). Belluardo, obtains the record of victory dethrone Davide Rigon with 5 successes this season.

Race 1: On a still wet track, the pole man Cédric Sbirrazzuoli springs perfectly and preserves his first position in front of Riccio and Belluardo, followed closely by Bortolotti, De Marco, Termine, Faccin and Matteo Cozzari (TEAM Italia CSAI). The battle remains very tight at all the positions, with Riccio who takes the lead before being passed by Belluardo at the 6th lap. For the 3rd position the battle remains tight between De Marco, Sbirrazzuoli, Bortolotti and Termine, who will pass Bortolotti at the 7th lap for the 6th position. At the 9th lap, the driver of CO2 Motorsport will pass at the 3rd place while passing De Marco, whereas Sbirrazzuoli left the battle after a mistake, finishing on the grass after having tried to pass De Marco. However the Monegasque will nevertheless sign the best lap of the race with a damaged back aileron. The race will see Belluardo first, in front of Riccio, Termine and Bortolotti, who has to control in its rear mirrors, De Marco and Cozzari. The last dramatic turn of event is reserved by Riccio, who at the last curve lets pass his team made, Termine for the second position.

Race 2: At the beginning of the race, Sbirrazzuoli preserves the advantage on the furious group, before being passed by Belluardo at the end of first lap. The driver of the Pro Motorsport gains precious meters, while Sbirrazzuoli has to resist to the attacks of De Marco, Bortolotti, Termine and Riccio. The aspiration will close the debates when Sbirrazzuoli will manage to distance the group, while De Marco gets rid of Termine for the 3rd place. Thereafter Termine battles with Bortolotti for the 4th place, followed by Cozzari, Riccio and Castellacci (Federkarting) fighting for 6th place. Some laps later, Riccio will make a mistake loosing time on the group, while Castellacci takes the advantage on Cozzari for the sixth position. In same time, Sbirrazzuoli will pass Belluardo to take the lead of the race. The duel for the 1st place remains stuck offering a spectacular duel which will end on the finish line. The race is thus won by the Monegasque, Cédric Sbirrazzuoli, in front of Belluardo, De Marco is 3rd, in front of Termine and Bortolotti. Behind them, Castellacci will finish 6th in front of Cozzari and D' Alelio (Federkarting) which will conclude this championship with a deserved 8th place after a long battle with the young driver of the TEAM Corbetta, Marco Zipoli. Michele Faccin finishes at the 10th place in front of Alessandra Neri (Scuderia NT)

Misano Qualifications| 05/11/2006

The young Monegasque of 19 years old, Cédric Sbirrazzuoli (Europa Corse) realized the 2 pole positions of the last meeting of the season in Misano. With a time of 1' 57.111 for race 1 and of 1' 57.250 for race 2, the driver of Monaco obtains his 2 firsts pole positions of the season. The 2nd place is allotted to Ignazio Belluardo (Pro Motorsport), in front of Francesco Riccio (CO2 Motorsport). On the other hand the 2 drivers fighting for the championship, Giuseppe Termine and Mirko Bortolotti are respectively 5th and 6th of race 1, however there positions will be reversed in race 2. During this time the pressure will be on top for 5 drivers who can still win the championship, with Termine 55 points, Bortolotti 51, De Marco 47, Faccin 44, and Sbirrazzuoli 37.
