F.Azzurra : Races, victories for Termine et De Marco

Giuseppe Termine and Nicola De Marco are the 2 winners of the 6th meeting of the season of Formula Azzurra. Termine imposes itself in race 1 after having passed Bortolotti at the start; he will have to maintain the attacks of Ignazio Belluardo and Mirko Bortolotti which will finally finish 5th after a mistake in the last laps. Bortolotti will not do the same error in race 2 as he will conserve his first position for all over the race finishing in front of De Marco and Cozzari, whereas his bigger rival, Giuseppe Termine was pushed out at the second lap by Belluardo. Dramatic turn of events at the end of the race after the decision of the stewards to disqualify Mirko Bortolotti for the nonconformity of the collectors of aspiration. De Marco thus won this race in front of Cozzari and Faccin. Regarding the other protagonists, Michele Lenzo obtains his first podium of the season in race 1, and Alessandra Neri obtains a splendid 6th place. On the other hand with a beautiful 3rd place in race 2 Michele Faccin remains in fight for the title, which will see a splendid battle in Misano for the last meeting of the championship, between Termine, Bortolotti, De Marco, Faccin and Sbirrazzuoli.

Race 1: Termine surprises Bortolotti at the start while passing him from the beginning, followed by Faccin and Cozzari. On the other hand Belluardo, 3rd on the grid will completely miss his departure and will tumble down to the 12th position, whereas De Marco will make an error in the first lap finishing in the gravel. In the first laps, the leading group is gathered in less than 8 tenth, whereas Lenzo passed Cozzari for the 4th place in front of Alessandra Neri, Francesco Castellacci, Bruno Gaeta and Cédric Sbirrazzuoli. With the 4th turn Cozzari retakes his 4th place, but some laps later Riccio will voluntarily push Sbirrazzuoli out, which will oblige the exit of the safety car. However Cozzari and Faccin do not realize the entrance of the safety car, which will cause an extraordinary incident in the "Curvone" forcing the 2 protagonists to retire. In lap 6th, the safety car will enter and Termine sets out again at the leading in front of Bortolotti, Lenzo, Gaeta, Belluardo, Castellacci, Neri and Settembrini. Belluardo comes back on top after his mistake at the start and passes 3rd, unfortunately for Lenzo, who had to resists to Gaeta’s attacks, who will make an error and will lost a lot of positions. Six drivers are fighting for the victory, and Termine must control the attacks of Bortolotti and Belluardo, while Lenzo contains Castellacci and Neri. The dramatic turn of events in lap 12 will determine the positions when Bortolotti makes a mistake at the "Campagnano" while slipping until the 6th position. For the final victory, the battle continues between Termine and Belluardo but the positions will remain fixed until the finish flag, in front of Lenzo, Castellacci, Bortolotti and Neri. The 2nd girl of the championship will finish at a good 7th place; indeed Rossana Ammirati precedes Settembrini, Gaeta and Glorioso.

Race 2: Bortolotti will not let himself being surprised at the start and takes the leading of the race in front of Cozzari which will have to resist to Faccin thereafter, with regard to the fight for the 4th place, one attends a splendid duel between De Marco, Termine and Belluardo. But Termine will have to leave the battle as Belluardo pushed him out, who will have thereafter a penalty for this act (drive through). Behind Bortolotti, a small group is formed for the 2nd place between Faccin, Cozzari, Belluardo, De Marco, Lenzo and Sbirrazzuoli. In lap 6 the Safety car will enter once again in track, after the exit of Rossana Ammirati. As soon as the safety car came in, Bortolotti stays the leader, whereas Belluardo passes Cozzari before having to do his drive through. De Marco and Cozzari pass both Faccin, while the 2 ex team mates, Castellacci and Sbirrazzuoli dispute the 5th place hardly, in front of Lenzo. At the end of the race end the stewards will disqualify Bortolotti as he will be excluded from the result of race 2, the victory returns thus to De Marco in front of Cozzari, Faccin, Castellacci and Sbirrazzuoli.

Magione Races| 18/09/2006

Magione The races, victories for De Marco

18/09/2006 – The 5th racing week-end of the season of Formula Azzurra Trofeo Michele Alboretto was in Magione, it was an absolute domination of Nicola De Marco who allocates the 2 pole positions, the 2 best laps, and the 2 victories.
Indeed after having signed the 2 pole positions, the Durango pilot will dominate also the races which where under the rain like during the qualifications. The best of the others was Mirko Bortolotti (TEAM Italia CSAI), which precedes Bruno Gaeta and Cédric Sbirrazzuoli in race 1. On the other hand in race 2 Ignazio Belluardo (Pro Motorsport) will finish at the 2nd place in front of the Monegasque Cédric Sbirrazzuoli (Europa Corse).

Race 1: De Marco continues leading the race in front of Bortolotti (TEAM Italia CSAI), Gaeta (Victory) and Sbirrazzuoli (Europa Corse). On the other hand in race 2 he will lose time on Belluardo (Pro Motorsport), which had been withdrawn from race 1 after an error at the first curve, De Marco will pass Belluardo at the 15th lap. Fourth podium of the season in race 2 for Cédric Sbirrazzuoli, fourth in race 1. However the 2 other protagonists of the championship, Giuseppe Termine (CO2 Motorsport) only 5th of race 1 and 12th in race 2; and Michele Faccin (PKF) which will finish his weekend of Magione without any point considering that it will finish 12th in race 1 and 9th in race 2. The classification of championship thus sees Belluardo at the head with 48 points in front of Bortolotti (-1), Termine (-3), Faccin and De Marco (-11) and Sbirrazzuoli (-15). Following the conditions of the track due to the rain of the day before, the departure of race 1 was given under safety car, which will remain in track during the three first laps. As soon as it left the track, there is action as Belluardo tried to pass De Marco at the first curve, but he will finish his attack in the gravel. De Marco, Bortolotti, and Gaeta will thus constitute the podium without ever giving up it, in front of Sbirrazzuoli and Bossini (TEAM Ghinzani) which occupies a good 5th place. Behind this small group Termine (CO2 Motorsport) will pass Mancinelli (CO2 Motorsport) for the 6th position, before attacking Bossini and passing him to the 5th lap. Bossini and Mancinelli will deliver thereafter a large brawl to the 14th lap where they will finish both in the gravel. It is thus Michele Lenzo (Pro Motorsport) to take benefits from it, to take the 6th place after having passed Francesco Riccio (CO2 Motorsport) and of Matteo Cozzari (TEAM Italia CSAI). In the last lap, Cozzari will have to give up its 8th position after a spin, which will benefit to Alessandra Neri (Scuderia NT), as she will thus mark her first point in the championship.

Races 2: The start of Race 2 was a standing start, and not a flying start under safety as in race 1. Belluardo will not make the same error twice and will pass De Marco at the first curve, in front of Bortolotti, Sbirrazzuoli, Gaeta et Lenzo. However, at the first lap Bortolotti had to let Sbirrazzuoli pass after a great attack, while Gaeta must resists to Lenzo. In the following laps Cozzari is 6th and tries an attack on Lenzo which will have to give up at the 2nd lap. Faccin is 7th, Gaeta is 8th but he is loosing some important positions, before the 2 drivers of the CO2 Motorsport, Termine and Riccio. These two will do the spectacle during several laps and it is finally Riccio which will have the best on its team made, and thereafter on Gaeta. To the sixth passage on the line Bortolotti passes Sbirrazzuoli for the 3rd place, but at the following curve he will finish his attack in the gravel, thus retrogressing at the 6th place behind Cozzari and Lenzo. At the half of the race, the duel between De Marco and Belluardo intensified as they were only separated of some tenth, follow-up by Sbirrazzuoli at 5 seconds, Cozzari, Lenzo, Bortolotti, and Faccin, at 10 seconds of the Monegasque. At the 15th lap De Marco passed Belluardo for the lead of the race, and in the same lap he will be relegated to more than one second. The positions will not change any more until the arrival for the podium, namely De Marco, Belluardo and Sbirrazzuoli. On the other hand Bortolotti will go up to the 4th place by passing Lenzo and Cozzari, which will be then joined by Faccin and Gaeta. The brawl for the sixth place makes rage, but finishes at the 21st passage when Faccin loses its front, while Gaeta passes Cozzari. In the last lap the young pilot of the TEAM Italia CSAI will have to yield his 7th place to Mancinelli, for finishing only 8th in front of Faccin.

Mugello Races| 25/07/2006

23/07/2006 Belluardo king of Formula Azzurra...

Like in Vallelunga it is the young Ignazio Belluardo (Pro Motorsport) who signs one doubled for the 2 races of Formula Azzurra, Trofeo Michele Alboreto. The race of the morning has seen 4 pilots penalized for an anticipated start. Belluardo thus allocates race 1, followed by Termine (CO2 Motorsport) and Sbirrazzuoli (Europa Corse). In race 2, after an extraordinary gone up of Belluardo who won the race in front of Capuano (Victory Engineering) and Nicola De Marco (Durango). On the other hand equality with regard to the 2 feminines of the championship, Alessandra Neri (Scuderia NT) and Rossana Ammirati (Europa Corse) who split respectively the 10th and 11th place, for races 1 and 2.

Race 1: It was very emotional, but at the end of all these fights, it is Belluardo to win the race after the disqualification of Faccin (P.K.F), Mirko Bortolotti (Team Italia CSAI), De Marco (Durango), and Capuano (Victory engineering); for anticipated departure. Before the disqualification of these 4 pilots we attended beautiful battles between De Marco, Belluardo, Bortolotti, Faccin, Sbirrazzuoli and Termine. On the 2nd lap De Marco passes Capuano for the 3rd place. Matteo Cozzari (Team Italia CSAI) left a group of battle to take the 6th place, and leavinf behind him Faccin, Lenzo (Pro Motorsport), Termine and Riccio (CO2 Motorsport). Belluardo starts to force the rhythm and passes Bortolotti at San Donato's curve, which will be also passed by De Marco at the 7th lap. De Marco will take the first place passing Belluardo in San Donato. The race director had already given the sanctions for the departure anticipated concerning De Marco, Faccin, Capuano, and Bortolotti. Faccin and Capuano return to the stands while De Marco will return only to the last turn, but too late because he had only 3 laps to do it, Bortolotti will not stop and will be disqualified of the race like De Marco. The victory thus comes to Belluardo in front of Termine and Sbirrazzuoli, who gets for the second time on the podium this season. Lenzo 4th front Castellacci (Federkarting), Riccio, Capuano, Veronesi (Victory Engineering) and Faccin. On the other hand Rossana Ammirati and Alessandra Neri finished respectively 9th and 10th following an intense duel for the whole race.

Race 2: Faccin realizes an excellent start and takes the first place of the race in front of De Marco, Bortolotti, Capuano, Belluardo and Castellacci. Following them, Termine in 7th position in front of Cozzari, Riccio and D' Alelio. At the 4th lap, Bortolotti, Belluardo and Capuano arrive all together to the San Donato, but it is Belluardo who passes first. The fight is everywhere, especially for the 6th place between Cozzari and Termine, who will pass all 2, Bortolotti to take 5th and 6th positions.
Faccin will succeed in outdistancing De Marco and Belluardo, which will pass De Marco thereafter to attack Faccin, and will pass him on the 9th lap of the race. Behind the battle for the first place, De Marco and Capuano try to come back, and on the 10th lap Capuano passes De Marco and Faccin for the second place. On the finish line De Marco will pass Faccin after having profited from the aspiration for the 3rd final place. With regard to the remainder of the group, French Axel Spilthooren (CO2 Motorsport) takes the 7th place in front of Riccio, Veronesi, and Alessandra Neri, which precedes this time the other women Rossana Ammirati

25/06/2006 - A weekend to remember for Pro Motorsport, at Vallelunga the second double appointment of the Italian Championship of Formula Azzurra-Trofeo Michele Alboreto. Ignazio Belluardo this year engaged to full time in the Formula 3000 International Masters has signed one double victory in the Formula Azzurra. He wants to represent an important model for the young talents. He starts his week-end really good as he conquest both pole positions during the Saturday.
Good for Belluardo, but also for his Team companion Michele Lenzo. Who finished the both races at the fourth position, which is quite a good result on such a difficult track, considering that for him it was his second race in the category.
However, not only the Pro Motorsport did a good week-end as Michele Faccin (PKF) finished second to both races to the shoulders of the Sicilian. Therefore Mirko Bortolotti; the official driver of the Team Italia CSAI has put in extension the usual class and grinta picking a good third place in race 1, but he finished 7th in race 2, due to a mechanical problem. However Mirko, has maintained the absolute leadership, but he will have to be careful to both Sicilians: Belluardo and Termine. Famous of merit also for Capuano, Riccio, De Marco, Termine, Cozzari, Gaeta, Spilthooren and Castellacci, authors all together of good performances. Applause for to the beautiful Alessandra Neri, for her good week-end as she obtained an 11th place in race. Finally, Sbirrazzuoli out to all the two races after a contact with Spilthoren in race 1 and an other with Termine in race 2.
