Spa 24H

Amazing race for Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, Adrien De Leener, Toni Vilander and Raffaele Giammaria in Spa 24H…

The official Ferrari driver, Toni Vilander and the Gold driver Raffaele Giammaria joined the duo formed by Cedric Sbirrazzuoli and Adrien De Leener for the most important race of the season.

In qualifying Toni got the 21st time overall because of traffic, unfortunately only the top 20 qualified for the Super Pole. Indeed the crew of the Ferrari number 52 prepared by AF Corse started the race from the 11th row.
Vilander took the start but after only 20 minutes, he had to come back to the pit lane because of a brake problem. After 6 laps the car was back on track, even though they were in last position (59th).
From there started the amazing come back, Sbirrazzuoli took the car for a double stint under rain conditions and was able to claim a few positions before giving the car to Raffaele Giammaria.
Later during the night, the young Monegasque did a double stint being one of the fastest driver on track, being able to be in the top 20 in the morning.
Thanks to an amazing job of all the drivers, car number 52 finished at the 11th position overall and 6th in Pro Am class. Nevertheless, the crew was disappointed considering that without having that problem they would have been on the podium.
Next race for Cedric Sbirrazzuoli in Asia, on the city track of Kuala Lumpur with the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo the 8th and 9th of August.

"First of all it was my dream to race in Laguna so leaving with a second and first place overall and two wins in Pro-Am, for me, is great," Sbirrazzuoli said.
"Yesterday I didn't know the car, the track or the team, but in the end everything went right and we won."

Sbirrazzuoli picked up a position on the first lap to sit in second after starting third. He maintained his position until the mandatory pitstop window opened. After Antinucci received a drive thru penalty for a shortened stop, Sbirrazzuoli took the lead and never looked back. Sbirrazzuoli had over a 7-second lead with 12 minutes remaining. Antinucci, sitting in fourth, overtook Bernoldi and Corey Lewis in a single pass with 10:34 to go. CEDRIC SBIRRAZZUOLI (No. 07 Lamborghini Dallas, winner, first, Pro-Am):
"First of all it was my dream to race in Laguna so leaving with a second and first place overall and two wins in Pro-Am, for me I think it's a good result. Yesterday I didn't know the car, the track or the team, but everything went right and we won. Everything is new and I wasn't even supposed to be here. I look forward to the next race. The championship is great, as I said yesterday. New Season, New challenge for Cedric Sbirrazzuoli and his team mate Adrien De Leener. In fact the duo this year participates to the Blancpain Endurance Series with a 59 cars entry list for the first race of the season in Monza.

The young Monegasque qualified the car in 6th position after claiming the second position in pre qualifying.
Adrien De Leener took the start of this 3H race, and after a brilliant first part of his stint, he unfortunately had a tire puncture.
Then, Cedric Sbirrazzuoli took over for the second part of the race, overtaking many cars and being one of the fastest driver on track. Nevertheless, the loss of time after the puncture was to big to finish the race in the points but the pace of the two drivers was definitely great and they will try to get a podium for the next race.

Next appointment for the Blancpain Endurance Series in Silverstone UK the 23rd and 24th of May.

Janvier 2015

Abu Dhabi 12H

This last race of the season, has seen 27 cars on the grid of all brands (Ferrari, Porsche, Mclaren, Mercedes etc). This closing event of the season was a beautiful one with all the best drivers of the world fighting for the title.

Cédric Sbirrazzuoli was sharing the car with his two usuals team mates Adrien De Leener and David Akhobadze on the yellow 458 GT3 number 77 prepared by AF Corse.

Unfortunately the car had an electrical problem after 5H, and it took 13 laps to the mechanics to fix it. After some beautiful battles during the race, the Monegasque driver and his team mates ended in 8th position in Pro Am and 11th overall. Without the electrical failure they were promised to a second place but luck was not on their side this week end.

Cédric Sbirrazzuoli: “It was a fantastic event, I really enjoyed driving here. Everyone in the Team did a great job and the car was fast, unluckily we had a problem during the first part of the race and we lost a lot of time to repair it, but it makes part of racing. Let’s hope for a better luck next year… We will be back.”
